::Rock Lee::
-Konoha’s Green Beast-
::CHARACTER OVERVIEW::
FACE CLAIM: Rock Lee
AGE: 13
GENDER: Male
DATE OF BIRTH:
RANK: Genin
VILLAGE:Konoha
::CHARACTER APPEARANCE::
PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION:
When it comes to Lee’s face, there are three main points of attention. The first is his haircut. In order to emulate Might Gai, Lee cut his hair from a ponytail into a bowl cut. His hair is smooth and shiny, sticking up nowhere if he can help it. His hair is a little on the long side, with his bangs reaching down to his eyebrows and side and back hair heading down to his neck. This allows his normally smooth bowl-shaped hair to have bounce and energy during combat, a sign that everything about Lee is youthful. The second part of Lee’s face that will draw attraction is his eyebrows. They are large and bushy, hence the nickname (by Naruto) “Bushy Brow.” These eyebrows frame the last part of his face that draws attention; his eyes. His eyes are a very simple design, with large, black pupils and irises that look as if it is one giant circle. Still, even with such simple eyes, Lee can express great emotions through the right combination of his eyes and eyebrows.
Being the exercise/training junkie that he is, Rock Lee is very well built. As his style calls for a lot of speed, Lee does not have a lot of muscle, and therefore does not look strong at first. Due to his extensive training, however, Lee’s muscles, while compact, have a lot of strength behind it. His muscles are also very well defined, guaranteeing that somewhere underneath that green jumpsuit of his is a six-pack of some sort (it’s the least he could get after all that hard work after all). His extensive training regime also makes it rather easy for him to keep up his physique.
The most well defined parts of Lee’s body, however, would have to be his arms and legs. Many techniques of the Strong Fist style rely on the legs, whether it is for jumping or kicking for one reason or another. This makes Rock Lee’s legs probably the strongest parts of his body, allowing for amazing abilities in running and jumping without the need for chakra. His arms are also well defined with lean muscles since punching is the other major part of Strong Fist style. At times, however, his legs and arms can be covered in bruises from too much training (which probably explains all those bandages…).
CLOTHING DESCRIPTION:
Lee has one classic style of clothing (and probably his only clothing for that matter); his jumpsuit. Adapting Might Gai’s style, Lee wears a green jumpsuit whenever and wherever he wants. For him, it allows for the perfect combination of flexibility, durability, and style (and it breathes easy). It’s the perfect fighting clothing, and Gai and Lee attempt to get as many people as possible to wear it (with Naruto being the only one to show any interest). Still, even if no one else wants to wear one, Lee wears his with full pride.
Another adaptation Lee used from Gai are his leg warmers. They are a dark orange color, but they aren’t there to keep his feet warm. Underneath them is a pair of training weights with the kanji for ‘guts’ on them. These weights are beyond anything a sane human being would wear; Lee likes them for everyday training. When he has a massive need for speed, however, he takes them off. This lightened weight gives him a massive boost for speed that makes him almost invisible to the human eye. Unlike most people, Lee wears his headband around his waist with the use of a red cloth. The only thing in common that he wears with other students are the blue shinobi sandals.
::CHARACTER DETAIL::
FAMILY AND FRIENDS:
-Might Gai (Sensei and Idol)
-TenTen (Teammate)
-Neji Hyuuga (Teammate and ‘Rival’)
PERSONALITY:
Lee is the epitome of determination and hard work. As he is incapable of using chakra to any major extent, Lee is forced to use taijutsu only. Due to the amount of work one must put in to excel in taijutsu, Lee spends as much time as normal to increase his strength and abilities. He is constantly setting challenges for himself, such as “If I can not do 500 pushups, I will do 1000 jump ropes”, for example, and will actually keep his word (a trait he received from Might Gai). Sometimes this determination, however, can go a bit too far. Lee has been known to fall asleep while training, and to continue training in his sleep due to muscle memory. Other times he takes his training too far and overexerts himself, causing injury and strain on his body. This, however, does not stop Lee as he is quick to push himself back to work even if the doctors tell him not to.
Even with the disadvantage fate has given him, however, Lee is optimistic that he will be able to be a splendid ninja. In fact, he has made proving himself as a ninja his goal in life. In particular he wishes to defeat those who have been labeled ‘geniuses’ by society. While he has no ill will against them, Lee wishes to prove that one does not have to be a genius, that one is able to become a truly splendid ninja in his own right. Through this, ironically, Lee has been given the nickname ‘Genius of Hard Work”, a title that he loves to use himself. Past ‘geniuses’ that he has wished to fight have included Neji Hyuuga and Sasuke Uchiha.
While he may be a ‘genius of hard work’, however, Lee can, at times, not be a very bright person. Common sense is a come-and-go thing for Lee, whose logic can sometimes be faulty. For example, in order to get something he wants, Lee acts likes he does not want it. Other times he will write notes based on “Might Gai’s Wisdom” but forget that he can not read them during battle. He also tends to view everything as training and is always willing to turn anything he can into a training session.
Outside of his determination, Lee is also known for being polite, kind, and an overall a ‘nice guy’. He always speaks politely, using formal language and never using contractions in his speech. Furthermore, while he does hold a sense of ‘honor’ of sorts, Lee is above holding grudges against people. For example, his teammate Neji consistently defeats him in combat, and acts rather rude towards him as well. Even with this in mind, however, Lee does not hate him; instead, he sees it as a challenge. His goal in life right now to beat him in a fight. Still, it makes it rather difficult at times to deal with Neji with his attitude, and so occasionally the two will bicker. Overall, however, Lee holds nothing against Neji, or anyone for that matter.
One of the most important relationships in Lee’s life is the relationship between him and Gai. Gai-sensei, as Lee calls him, is Lee’s idol in life, and has begun copying him in any way he can. Whether it’s clothes, personality, or even haircut, Lee wants to be like Gai in anyway that he can. The reason for the two of them having such a close relationship is Gai’s dedication to helping Lee in anyway that he can. They are more like father and son than student and pupil. This relationship, however, can lead to some very strange situations. When together, Lee and Gai tend to act very theatric with speeches about “Youth”, crying, hugs, and a variety of other things that disturb the people around them. Lee’s enthusiasm is also greatly enhanced by Gai’s presence to the point nobody else can keep up with him but Gai.
HISTORY:
Rock Lee was born within the village of Konoha, and from the start was handicapped in his goal of being a shinobi. His chakra network failed to develop properly, making him incapable of performing anything but the simplest of jutsu such as walking on water. For many, such a drastic genetic defect would seem to disqualify one from pursuing the life of a shinobi. Lee, however, did not take this sitting down; he was going to become a shinobi one way or another. When he was of age to join the Academy, Lee joined, despite the protest of many instructors who tried to convince them otherwise. Lee knew the risk, and he was ready to take them.
Life in the Academy, however, was not easy for Lee. He was always picked on because of his inability to use jutsu. It was arranged for him to take special classes and tests away from the other kids due to his inability to use chakra. Attempts were made to see if this genetic defect could be worked around, but these came to no success. So it was decided that Lee was to focus in taijutsu and weaponry, and one day he might be able to make it as a ninja. Many instructors, however, didn’t think he would get far, and gambled on the idea that Lee would simply quit the Academy and live life as a civilian.
Quitting, however, was not Lee’s style. Every day he would spend more time than the rest of the kids combined on training. At first it was hard for him; he would always be behind the others, and coming last in the laps around the yard. As time went on, however, Lee found himself catching up to the other students who were using chakra to run. Soon Lee found himself at the front of the pack, able to run faster and longer than any of the other students. It was an impressive development, but just because one could run fast didn’t mean they would be a good shinobi.
Eventually the time came for the graduation exams. Lee was given a special exam as he was unable to follow the standard procedure. He was given half an hour to run around the entire village, a test that would soon be followed by a strenuous routine of exercise that had to be completed within an hour. The instructors didn’t think that Lee would be able to make it, but he did. The race around the village took him exactly 29.5 minutes, and he finished the entire physical exam within 50 minutes. These results were good enough for him to pass, but they soon found a problem; where to put him. Obviously Lee was only going to be able to pursue taijutsu…which left them one choice; Might Gai, the only ninja crazy enough to voluntarily choose to use only taijutsu. He was the instructor for the taijutsu expert team that would consist of Neji and TenTen; a Hyuuga and a weapons expert respectively.
Lee and Gai took to each other like fish to water. Gai was inspired by Lee’s determination, his nindo of proving himself to be a splendid ninja even if he could not perform ninjutsu or genjutsu. Furthermore, Lee was the only one capable (or had the willpower/lack of sense) to keep up with his own training regime after seeing Lee spending all day and night kicking a log for training (even as the boy slept). Soon Gai began to pay much more attention to the boy, doing anything it took to help Lee reach his dreams. He taught the boy the Strong Fist style, and the secrets to the Eight Gates, a forbidden jutsu. Lee, however, took to it no problem, always working as hard as he could to please Gai-sensei and to get stronger. Soon Lee began to dress like Gai, and picked up many of Gai’s habits. In short, the two of them became closer than most real father and sons were.
As for his other teammates, well, Lee had some trouble. Neji was the prodigy of the Hyuuga, a genius. His philosophy in life, that one could not change there fate, troubled Lee, who thought of himself as an example that proved Neji wrong. Whenever the two fought, however, Lee would almost loose. This, however, didn’t stop the boy; instead, he made Neji his ‘rival’, and swore to defeat him one day. TenTen was a little nicer; her only issue was she couldn’t keep up with Gai and his ‘craziness’ as she called it. Other than that, she was perfectly fine.
Lee soon discovered he had another talent, however; the Drunken Fist. After accidentally swallowing some food laced with alcohol, Lee quickly found himself drunk. By the time he was restrained, the entire restaurant was in shambles. The honorable thing, of course, was for Lee to work for them to pay for the damage; the restaurant never had a speedier delivery boy. Still, this powerful new taijutsu skill was of interest, but Lee never even remembered the incident. However, Gai has since then made sure never to give Lee alcohol.
Gai did not sign up his team for the Chuunin Exam during their first year together. This disappointed Lee to a degree, but he then took it as an opportunity to train even harder so they would be ready. Besides, this year a Sasuke Uchiha was coming up; the last of th Uchiha was an interesting challenge. And so Lee ins now pumped, ready to prove himself capable of defeating not one but TWO geniuses; and nothing is going to get in his way to do it. Lee will charge forward full speed of youth ahead!

WEAPONS:
-Kunai Knives
-Explosive Notes
-Shuriken
-Nun-chucks
KEKKAI GENKAI / CLAN JUTSU:
N/A
CHAKRA NATURE
JUTSU:
Strong Fist [Gōken] :: Strong Fist is Guy's and Lee's characteristic fighting style, the purpose of which is to cause external damage and break bones
Dynamic Entry [Dainamikku Entorii] :: This jutsu is simply a flying jump kick at the side of the enemy's face while shouting "dynamic entry". Guy's version also sometimes involves throwing a kunai to distract the opponent's attention and then attacking them from their blind spot. This technique can also be used to break into buildings.
Leaf Gale [Konoha Reppū] :: The user performs a low, circular kick to sweep the opponent off their feet.
Leaf Whirlwind [Konoha Senpū] :: This technique involves a powerful leap forward followed by a spinning kick with both legs in succession, the second kick being aimed lower in case the intended target ducks the first.
Leaf Rising Wind [Konoha Shōfū] :: This jump uses the entire body as a spring by amassing power in the legs before kicking upwards. Because the power of the kick from the ground is instantly converted into a blow, the enemy hit with this attack will be launched high into the sky.
Shadow of the Dancing Leaf [Kage Buyō] :: The Shadow of the Dancing Leaf is used to position a ninja's opponent into a vulnerable aerial position. The ninja will first quickly appear below their opponent, then with a swift upper kick they will launch their target into the air. The ninja will then jump into the air to "shadow" the target with the target's back to their chest. Since this is the opponent's blind spot, it can be used as a set up to a number of jutsu. Rock Lee uses it in preparation for the Front Lotus.
Drunken Fist [Suiken] :: According to Might Guy, Drunken Fist is a kenpō/taijutsu style where, "the more you drink, the drunker you get, and the stronger you become". This unusual taijutsu style is a unique style of combat. It can not be learned, nor can it be taught, or honed and refined through training and practice. Drunken Fist Fighter's are not simply drunk, they become human powerhouses' who'll strike unpredictability, with no inhibitions, an explosive fury and without any second thoughts about their actions. Once drunk, the the user will lose their ability to know friend from foe and attack whomever is in their vicinity.
The Drunken Fist is not a reliable option because the 'drunken frenzy' that alcohol induces does not hold for prolonged periods of time; Lee is easily awakened from Drunken fist with a simple scratch to anything that draws blood sobering him up almost immediately. If he has not overcome his adversary by that time, Lee may be left at their mercy, as shown in his fight against Kimimaro
Eight Gates [Hachimon] :: The Eight Gates are eight specific points on a person's Chakra Pathway System. They limit the overall flow of chakra within a person's body. The basis for the idea of the chakra gates comes from the body's limits on the functions within it. This makes the body much weaker, but it keeps the body from expiring too soon. By opening these gates, the user can surpass their own physical limits at the cost of extreme damage to their own bodies. Rock Lee is able to open the first five gates.
Front Lotus [Omote Renge] :: Front Lotus requires the opening of the first of the Eight Chakra Gates, giving the user five times their normal strength. The user launches the opponent into the air and then uses Shadow of the Dancing Leaf. Once behind the opponent, the user restrains them and piledrives them into the ground headfirst while rotating at a ferocious speed. Because it uses one of the chakra gates, the user is left extremely fatigued, making this jutsu a "double-edged sword."
Reverse Lotus [Ura Renge] :: This jutsu is an advanced and more destructive version of the Front Lotus, which requires that at least three chakra gates be opened (in every instance in which it has been used, five gates are opened). Once enough gates are open, the user launches the target into the air and strikes them at inhuman speed before hitting them with one arm and one foot, sending the target crashing into the ground. This is usually fatal due to the speed and power behind the attack.
Because so many chakra gates are opened at once, it can only be used once, since the user will likely be unable to stand afterward.

When the sun finally rose and light streamed into the bedroom, it had absolutely nothing to land on except an empty bed and a counter with an empty egg cartoons. The owner of the bed was long gone on a morning training exercise. Sleep? Eh, he had already gotten enough sleep. Right now was training time, a time to get stronger, faster, and more powerful than he was the day before, heck, even the minute before. There was no time to be tired when that was what was at stake, right?
”997…998….999…1000” Lee counted off as he kicked at his training post.
Finally meeting his goal (it only took him the last hour or so), he placed his leg on the ground and took a breather. His leg was twitching like it was ready to go at the post again; muscle memory, a phenomenon that Lee was very familiar with. It happened all the time, and did have the benefit of gaining him a few extra hours of training, even if that time was while he was sleeping. Still, there was other exercises that he needed to get to work on before everybody else was up and moving about. So for now his leg was going to have to sit still, which eventually led to a nice, sore feeling in his legs. A sign of hard work no doubt.
While he was itching to get right back to work on a new exercise, even Lee knew he had to take a quick break. Staying hydrated was a very important part of exercising, so Lee walked over to his water bottle and finished off about half of it in one gulp. After an hour of such straining work, a cool gulp of water like that was rather refreshing. Later on during his jog around the village he would stop by somewhere real quick and fill it up again. That would probably happen after he was done with his punches, or would he do sit-ups this morning?
As Lee stood debating what to do next, a creaking sound could be heard behind him. Confused, Lee turned around and watched as the training post he had been kicking began to tilt. Within moments it completely fell over with smash. There was only one explanation as for why this had happened; he had kicked the post so many times so hard he had basically chopped it down. Now that was a good sign of a good workout. What was that, the second post this month? Lee was surprised Lady Tsunade had not reprimanded him for it. Probably cause she was still surprised he could walk at all really after that match with Gaara. Humph, did anybody really think that a damaged spine, broken arm, and a broken leg, with little to no chance of recovery, would actually stop him? He was Rock Lee after all, the genius of hard work. He had no times for such injuries to be concerned about.
What he could be concerned about right now, however, was his next training goal. With the post gone, he obviously could not practice his punches. Theoretically he could use a tree, but the last time he did that the tree almost hit the village walls (he had to use the biggest, tallest, and thickest tree after all). Lady Tsunade had not been very happy with him for that and was ready to forbid him from doing late-night training for punishment. Such a terrible threat meant he had to obey her order of no more trees within the village walls. Since he was expecting Neji, TenTen, and Gai to show up in a few hours he could not go too far from the village. So that meant only one thing to do…
”All right then. If I can not do 2000 sit ups by the time the rest of my team arrives, then I will run up and down the stairs of the park 250 times on my hands!”
The goal set, Lee sat down on the ground, placed his hands behind his head, and began his sit ups.
”1..2..3..4..5…” He expected this to take an hour or two at the most as long as nothing distracted him.
