Graphics/Post Layouts/Posting Rules

Graphics Rules:

• Keep it Character Related: You're allowed to have graphics, but keep them related to your character whether it's the actual character or related to them somehow (ex: Sakura and cherry blossoms)
  
  
• Keep Signatures 500 pixels wide: Graphics should be no more than 500 pixels wide to prevent forum stretching. Height is more subjective, but 250 is a good rule of thumb for it.
  
  
• Minimize Animation: Small amounts of animation, like text and such, are fine, but do not make the entire signature or avatar animated. This slows down loading times, especially for anyone who is using dial-up or slower connections.
  
  
• No Sprites: Don't use sprites in your avatar or signature.
  
  
• Keep It Clean: The site is PG-13, so the content of your graphics should be as well. Minimize vulgarity and graphic content.
  

Post Layouts:

• All Rules Related to Graphics Apply Here: The size of images and the content of images for post layouts apply to post layouts as well
  
  
• Post Layouts Are Optional: You are not required to have a post layout; some people just find them fun.
  
  
• Don't Steal Layout Designs: Don't copy/paste layouts from other people. Ask permission or request the make one for you if you want to. They, of course, have the right to deny you.
  

Posting Rules:

• Make Dialogue Noticeable: Whether it's bolded or colored differently, make sure people are able to tell what is dialogue and what is not. Also, dialogue should be in double quotes (" ").
  
  
• Make Thoughts Noticeable: Whether italicized or colored differently, make sure people are able to tell what is thought and what is not.
  
  
• Be Consistent With Distinguishing: If you are using a certain group of colors for dialogue and thoughts, be consistent. You can change them, but don't switch them around every other post or such. It can make it hard to keep track of what is what.
