When Anko was summoned to the mission room at the academy, she was excited for getting a mission. She had not been on a mission in a few days and it had started to drag her down. She loved doing missions because she still felt like she had something to prove to everyone about who she was. When she got there though, her face was turned into disappointment when she found what the mission was going to be about. It would seemed like the village had ran out of Chuunin and Genin to do this mission and just threw it on the next available person’s lap and it just happened to be Anko herself.
Anko took the scroll and mumbled darkly to herself as she asked to be excused. She opened the scroll and read the name of the girl she was going to be escorting to Tanzaku town. Anko ran over the name of the person trying to pin point in her mind exactly where she had heard the last name before. She rolled up the scroll again and stuck it in her pouch. She was not sure what she was going to expect in this poor excuse of a mission that was given to her. She needed action not babysitting a spoiled brat.
Once outside the academy, Anko looked up at the bright blue sky and sighed slightly. At least the mission was going to pay a good price. She leaned against the side of the building for a moment and closed her eyes. She knew she needed to go meet the girl but Anko could not find the will to go and be early to meet her. No instead Anko decided that she was going to be late to west gate of the village. It was better because than she could come up with an excuse to why she was late and did not want to go too early for the meeting.
After a few minutes of wandering around the village, Anko decided to go back to her apartment and grab her bag of supplies. It was a good day and a half walk to the village and it might be longer depending on how the girl could hold up for the long distance. Once she was satisfied with the items she threw the bag over her shoulder and walked to the west gate of the village. She was not sure what she was getting herself into at the moment or what to expect. It was not every day that she was faced with watching little kids something that she did not enjoy one bit.

Akarui’s father being stuck in Tanzuka in a business employment, her mother on a mission for Konoha and her siblings being able to travel to look after themselves, the youngest sibling was stuck with a babysitter, or perhaps more of a escort of sorts. It’s not like she would be trusted to travel so far without someone to make sure she got there safely, without hurting herself or being stolen away by some criminal looking for a defenseless little girl. Therefore, she has been assigned a ninja to make sure she arrived in her father’s arms safely. Somehow, she doubted there would be much trouble, but in the event that there happened to be some issues, it would be nice to have someone to keep her safe.
She was to meet her escort at the west gates at the early time of eight in the morning. Not so early for someone that hardly slept, due to pain and too much to think about, but she despised the idea. She loved to travel, however much energy it took from her already weak body. That didn’t matter, as she’d had the finest people working to help her regain what she lost, and a quiet place to rest her tired bones. No, what made her mad was the thought that her parents didn’t trust her siblings enough to watch over her. After all, both were well on their way to becoming strong, capable people. It would be a good experience for them to look after one younger then themselves. She was responsible anyways and would need help with only the simplest of things. Her older sister would be sure to make sure she was eating and taking her medication when the times called for it. But of course, her parents were just looking out for their youngest, most fragile child in a way that translated love and affection, no matter how angry Akarui was. She might as well just learn to live with it, as it had already been planned and there was no way of getting out of it.
Traveling took a lot of energy from her, more energy taken from her the longer she traveled. Most of the time, it was across town and that would leave her a bit weak. Nothing to serious, but she didn’t enjoy the feeling. And now, it would be even worse. However, she’d been trying to be more active than usual, getting ready for the trip. She’d been told three weeks in advance, and had been jogging around the town ever since. She’d only tripped once, and though the pain was still there, it didn’t have that terrible sting it could have had, without her little helping pills. She’d also been eating more frequently, to keep her hypoglycemia from showing up while she traveled.
She’d packed plenty of things, her medicine pouch at her side and a bag full of things strapped to her back. Some of the things included where snacks and bandages, a blanket and a fresh pair of socks.
Not being able to wear a dress for her travels, she’d unhappily subsided to wearing pair of long stockings beneath a short, light brown skirt, pleated and stitched with white flower blossoms. She wore socks over those and a pair of comfortable boots. She also wore a thin, light blue shirt, a jacket tied around her waist to keep her mother from worrying. She was almost never cold, her body running much hotter than the average persons. Her hair was pulled back into to tight buns, stray hairs floating here and there, though she was constantly slicking those pieces back. She had a water canteen and a traveling cloak in her bag as well, both light to keep weight off of her back.
Waiting, she waited for the person who’d been described to her. It wasn’t exactly a short wait, but she didn’t mind. A drawing pad kept her entertained. When at last her escort did show up, she tossed the pad into her bag and stood up from where she’d been sitting crossed-legged to the side of the path, out of everyone’s way. Smiling to herself, she raised her arm in welcome, waving her hand back and forth gently before grasping her hands together in front of her. When the escort was closer, Akarui dipped her head politely. ”Hello. I’m Akarui Uta, and it’s very nice to meet you,” she said, her voice high-pitched, like a small bell, strong and clear. It wasn’t every day that you got to travel with a ninja. Recalling all of the items she had in her pack, she reassured herself that her mother had cleared her that her supplies would last her until she got to the village, and she would be safe with this nin.

Anko never thought of herself has the babysitting type. She knew she had a habit of scaring people by her ways, but that was just how she rolled with things. She was never one that allowed herself to get worked up by things that she could not control around her. She knew there was something that she could, but everything else she could not. She tried to work with the kids at the academy and found herself making them cry for the most part. She liked to watch the kids from a distance rather than being on their faces.
Her being a proctor for the Chuunin Exams gave her a good boundary away from kids. During the Exams she was there to torture them and weed out the ones that would coward in fear during dangerous times. Sure it also brought the nations cover together and balance, but this allowed them to make sure that a person would not cause losing lives during a mission and do what must be done. Today, however, she found herself watching someone that had family in the shinobi life. She could not believe that she was doing this.
Anko watched the girl that she was suppose to met come up to her and say who she was and bow slightly. Anko could not really do the same at the moment; she really did not know the girl. All she knew that her father was paying her big time for her take the girl to where she needed to be. She rubbed the back of her neck and smirked some. ”Mitarashi Anko, Guess I am going to be escorting you to that one town. Don’t get in my way of protecting you and do exactly what I say. Or I will let my little friends come out and get ya.” It was hard to tell if she was joking her not, or what exactly what she meant by little friends.
