When Soren woke from his sleep, the first thing that he realized was that his back was killing him. He had been forced to sleep on the hard ground the night before, and as he sat up and stretched, he was careful to avoid doing anything to hurt his spine further. He gave a huge yawn and felt his blue-violet eyes watering as a result. He lazily wiped the corners of his opticals with the seat of his gloved hand.
He didn't want to wake up, but his sore back prevented him from comfortably laying back down, so he sighed and stood back up and yawned again. He hadn't gotten much sleep, and it wasn't even good sleep at that. Oh, how he longed for that comfy bed back in Yukigakure. He would brave Comrade Winter's snow and the irrational members of the hidden village just so he could sleep for an entire day in that bed. Of course, he would bring Tomogara-chan, too, so that his back would stop hurting. At this, he glanced down to where Tomo was sleeping, and a smile crept onto Soren's lips.
Tomogara was such a good little boy. He always did everything he was told, and he never cried or whined. He never complained about having to sleep on the ground, which gave Soren the strength to not moan about his hurting. When he slept, he looked like a tiny angel, and when he was awake, it was only intensified by his happy smiles and adorable giggling. Such a good kid... Such a good kid...
It was at that moment that Tomo stirred lightly in his sleep before waking up completely and blinking his big blue eyes. He looked up at Soren, and Soren smiled warmly down at him. "How did you sleep, Tomo?"
Tomogara yawned lightly and sat up, much like Soren had done a few minutes ago. "Really good! I had a dream about you, big brother!"
"A dream about me?" Soren was surprised. Tomogara had dreamed about him? So Tomogara thought about him even when he slept. Such a good kid...
"Yes! We were in a field of sunflowers, and Mom and Dad were there, too!"
Soren's eyes grew wide. He had had the same dream last night. But, then again, he almost always had that dream. Maybe Tomo had thought about it while he slept and dreamed it as well? Such a good kid... Tomo had grown into such a good kid...

Muffled grunts echoed out along the plain area as the voices of two unique beings echoed out so bluntly; yet it remained hidden from the veil of mist in which surrounded them. Such voices seemed irritated, despite the fact one was clearly soft, the other ever so blunt and harsh. Shuffling along as they were, the image of a dark haired young girl soon developed as she slowly eyed her companion with mild malice and humor. "Sensei said to scout separately" She whispered in an all knowing tone; snickering as her team mate let out a horrified grunt before shouldering her. Turing on his heels; he shooks his head and found a low growl echoing from him.
"You think I'm scared to be on my own!" He cried out, her eyes soft as she slowly began to laugh. "Yeah, well just you wait Shia chan. When I hunt down every god damned idiot around here then you'll be at my feet!" He spat, Shia's laughter echoing louder as she felt a vast grin tugging at her delicate features. Watching him storm off, she slowly waved before eying the area. Noting it was safe, she felt her voice raise to a melodic call - his irritated cry in return signifying she'd been heard.
"Just call if you need any assistance!" Shia smiled, turning on her heel and walking in the opposite direction of her team mate; Katsu. It had been only hours previously that her sensei and their other teammate (Suzu san) had been informed to scout out the surrounding area; just in case. The reason behind it all was beyond Shia's knowledge; but in truth she considered it to be a casual stroll for once. Of course, that was never the case and as the brunette carried on walking; she felt that deranged sensation of paranoia haunting her every bone. Shivering gently and allowing her curious eyes to lower to the ground, she allowed her senses to sharpen and soon enough her eyes had snapped up in not only that curiosity in which was natural to her, but also disbelief. There was indeed foreign chakra...and here she'd thought her sensei had lied just to get rid of them for the day. It wouldn't have been the first time he'd pulled such a foolish stunt.
Softly licking her lower lip and sighing out loud; she glanced into the area in which such a charka ranged and felt her shoulders square and her voice draw low as if she actually held a threat. So what if she'd had the power to succeed in the exams...she was no where near the level of a jonin. That was indeed the unfortunate part, not that she'd ever back down. With that said, she swiftly drew the delicate staff that lay across her back; eyes gaze sharp. "...w-whose there" She stammered, cringing under the clear weakening tone of hers. No...she wouldn't back down. Never.
