I am curious what others may think the superior ninja weapon would be, both for this RP, and for clandestine operations, in general. Personally, I favor any kind of short sword, as it gives the ability of attack and defense.
Thoughts?

Personally, I think a pair of bladed tonfa would be the best. If you think about it, generally speaking, tonfa are usually defensive parrying weapons, but having a blade just makes them that much more dangerous~ and offensive, too.
Granted, the Naginata is still my favourite weapon. <3 Keladry and her centaur-gutting skills. xD

personally i'd go woth a ranged weapon or something that you could swing from a distance. A rope with a heave wieght tied to the end would serve the purpose well. or somthing like.

A ranged weapon could prove interesting. I would almost mention crossbows or natural recurve bows, but those are a little difficult to get into tight spaces, make a bit too much noise, and generally aren't suited for covert ops. The tonfa would make sense. The ranged weapon, if using a thin steel cable so as to be adapted as a garote for up-close work would also make sense.
I would almost, for comic relief, mention the Tom Brown Tracker knife (of "The Hunted" fame), but that's nothing more than a miniature serrated axe.

As a Lee fan I would have to say your own human body, passion, and YOUTH But yeah, I'd probably go with a short sword of some sort with some kunai or ranged weapons. That, and kunai serve as decent backup knives.

Natural recurve bows are hard to fire. Dx I have one, and I've shot it... And it's rather difficult. And it really does hurt one's forearm when the bowstring rubs against it when firing...
Of course, if one could seal their weapons, then life would be good, but sadly, we're not ninjas. Dx

Hmn... Sand no. *shot* I myself am a fan of a variety of weapons, and because of this...obsession (oh dear ._.) I have with weapons, I made myself a custom Akatsuki on another Naruto RP site, and she uses a variety of weapons (I honestly looked up "ninja weapons" and got a huge list, but simplified it to my favorites) aside from the normal ninja weapons... - Kunai
- Shuriken
- Windmill Shuriken
- Senbon
- Exploding Notes
The less common ones consist of: - A pair of Sai
- Naagamaki
- Two war fans
- Dual Broadswords
- Tachi
- Bo Staff
- Kusarigama
- Sansetsukon
- Two custom-designed hook swords
yeah Im a freak >_> XD

Hmm, speaking of said Akatsuki character on another site... maybe she should reply to her thread with her partner, hmmm? D<
And my personal favorite weapon is definitely senbon. They're so thin and slick and easy to manipulate.

In regards to the recurve bow, what's the pull weight on the one you have? I did archery back in college, and found I put the hicks with their $800 compounds to shame with a 40 year old 25 lb pull recurve, using a sewing needle as an aperture sight. I could understand if you're talking 40-70 pounds of pull, but that's more a matter of physical conditioning rather than the design of the weapon.
A karambit might be a nice weapon to have.

I'm not sure what the pull is; it was my dad's old bow. It's not so bad if you fire it only a few times, but after a while one's arm just starts to feel like lead. Dx
Not to mention, I've only actually shot a recurve twice; we did a small spurt on it in gym class, and then the one time I shot it on my grade 8 camping trip.
Physical conditioning shouldn't have been a problem, though... I mean, I was in the middle of wrestling season... <<

Well, now you have me intrigued, boss. I wouldn't be surprised if it were a 50-80 lb bow, as that's what's common for minimum stopping power and penetration for mule deer. And with that kind of pull, you can be in your prime, but still not have exercised the right muscle groups to repeatedly shoot the bow.
