Life in space is often life or death. Kill or be killed. Power is the only thing that matters.
The evil tyrant, Frieza, is determined to seize control of the universe by any means necessary. Day by day, planets surrender themselves to him and pledge themselves to his growing empire. It is said that it is only a matter of years before Frieza can declare himself supreme ruler of the universe.
Frieza's success is owed, in no small part, to the saiyans. A warrior race from planet Vegeta, the saiyans have established themselves as some of the most powerful fighters in the universe. Their uncanny ability to rapidly increase their strength with every battle has made them a force that could soon become too much for Frieza to control. For now, however, Frieza is content to use their abilities for his own sinister purposes.
Meanwhile, on the planet Earth, two powerful androids have surfaced. Possessing power enough to challenge Frieza himself, these androids ruthlessly murdered Goku and Piccolo, earth's two most powerful warriors. They have since gone on to eradicate two thirds of the earth's population. The only hope for earth now is a desperate mission to the planet Namek to wish Goku back with the dragonballs.
