Yet another lesson on the art of keeping oneself hidden amidst the shadows. Tch, Konohamaru was already a master at that, wasn’t there anything cooler for them to learn? He giggled to himself as he rested his chin upon his arms that he had comfortably folded on top of the desk. Well, maybe the other students in the class did need to go over this stuff, but he didn’t have to because he was so advanced compared to the others!
All at once, the boy completely stopped paying any attention whatsoever to his sensei. He pulled a blank piece of paper out from his book and set it down on the table in front of himself. A pencil in hand now, he soon started to draw a picture of the first thing that came to mind, grinning to himself as he did so. Heh, Konohamaru couldn’t help but think that this picture was starting to look more and more like the real thing. He was a real artist! Add that in with everything else he was awesome at, and he was pretty much amazing at everything!
“Hehehe,” he laughed upon the completion of his artwork. A perfect picture of himself standing with one foot on the ground and the other on top of a defeated Iruka. In addition, in the drawing Iruka was saying ‘Damn, Konohamaru, I could never hope to beat you!’. The boy was actually rather proud of his drawing. “Psst, you guys,” Konohamaru whispered, shifting his eyes mischievously in his friends’ direction. “Check out this picture I drew of Iruka-Sensei,” he snickered as he slowly pushed the piece of paper across the desk towards them.
Smiling while awaiting their responses to his picture, he nodded happily as they each let out a quiet laugh. “Woah!” the boy gasped as a kunai zipped right passed his face. He and his two friends’ mouths opened wide in shock as they stared down at the knife that had just come so close to hitting them. “Th- that almost hit me…” Konohamaru muttered, his eyes gazing down at the kunai that was now sticking through his picture and into the desk.

”Pay attention, Konohamaru!” came the frustrated yell of one Iruka-Sensei.
Now shifting his eyes from the kunai and over toward his teacher, a look that was a mixture between one of annoyance and boredom appeared on Konohamaru’s face. ”I can’t!” he huffed, boldly folding his arms across his chest in defiance. The lesson was about something that he was already well trained in! If Iruka would just start teaching them something he didn’t know then he’d be all for paying attention! But this? Well, it just didn’t interest him enough for him to be able to pay attention for more than a few seconds. “Not when you’re teaching boring stuff like this!” the student finished.
”You have to learn these things if you want to be a ninja,” the teacher stated, still with some anger in his voice.
Konohamaru sighed, glancing over at his two friends and whispering something to them about how if only he knew how great they were at this particular ninja art, or something along those lines. He then looked back at Iruka. “We already know this stuff, Iruka-Sensei!” he declared, staring at his teacher with a serious expression on his face.
”Well then, why don’t you demonstrate it for the class, Konohamaru,” Iruka suggested, his level of anger clearly rising as he tried to deal with the student.
”No way!” he refused and pulled out a second piece of paper. Soon, the child was drawing a new picture; however, he wasn’t able to get too far into it before he heard his sensei burst out in anger once again. What was his problem, anyway?
Slowly he allowed his eyes to stop focusing on the paper and to find out what Iruka planned to do in order to stop him this time. Crap! The man had thrown the chalk he had been using down at the wooden floor and was racing over towards him, infuriated. Konohamaru had to act quickly now, and that meant… leaving his good friends behind, but it had to be done. ”Uh oh,” he uttered, but smirking all the same, and then quickly pushed the window open before clumsily scrambling out of it. As fast as his feet would carry him, he raced through the streets and away from the school building. His biggest problem now? He was pretty positive Iruka was right on his tail.

Why did this guy have to be so persistant! Konohamaru had already tried plenty of times to give Iruka the slip, taking sharp turns, jumping onto the roofs of buildings, hiding against the sides of random fences with the same jutsu he had seen Naruto use. But nothing was working! ”Give up…!” Konohamaru yelled, panting as he ran as fast as he could down the street. It was no use, whenever he double-checked to see if someone was chasing him, Iruka-sensei was never too far behind. ”I have to lose him somehow…” the boy thought quickly, scanning the area he was passing through from side to side for any sort of hint of what he could do to slow the man down.
Aha! The academy student felt pleased with himself as an amazing idea entered his mind. He knew exactly what to do now, he would show that Iruka-sensei just how great he was at what he had been trying to teach in class earlier. Swiftly turning one last corner, Konohamaru made an abrupt stop and pulled out his rock disguise. He didn’t see the man anywhere nearby and figured this would be the best time to pull the disguise over himself and hide, making no movements so that he could be as believable a rock as possible.
”Heh, let’s see him find me now!” he spoke aloud to himself happily. Soon Iruka-sensei would be out of his hair and he could stop hiding! And he would know how great Konohamaru really was at what he was teaching in class earlier. That’d show him.
But what was that heavy breathing he heard near by? Peeking through the bottom of his rock disguise, Konohamaru spotted a pair of feet standing really close to him. Heh, it was probably just his sensei, taking a breather because he couldn't keep up! ”Rocks don’t TALK!” Iruka screamed, hovering over the poorly disguised child.
”Gah!” he called out as he was grabbed and lifted into the air, Iruka using the rock disguise against him and carrying him in it as if it were nothing more than a bag. In fact, it probably was just a brown cloth bag, considering it hardly made Konohamaru look like a rock when he covered himself with it in the first place. Making efforts to get away from the man were futile, for he soon found himself being plopped down onto the floor of the classroom once again.
