Naruto, had a mission, and that mission was one simple goal. He was going to finally win Sakura over! Yes, it was a brilliant plan he thought so himself. Sasuke would meet his match today. Yes he would. The sun had just risen and naruto had gotten himself out of bed with no sweat when he thought about how he would finally get Sakura to say that she loved him. It was that simple. Since then all the blonde was thinking about was how to do that exactly. Naruto wasn't at the top of his game so he thought of one way to find out.
"I know! I'll follow Sakura to see what she likes!" the blonde said to himself. He couldn't help but smirk. That was a wonderful idea. So that is exactly what the blonde did. He headed into town, looking for any signs of Sakura. He thought he saw her at one point. She had been in a small flower shop he thought. But Naruto wasn't stupid enough to go into the shop. He would get pummeled by sakura if she found out he was following her. So he waited. Naruto's attention span was small though.
He missed Sakura when she came out since his attention was on another shop at the moment. After a while he couldn't help but get bored of waiting. He huffed to himself. If he had to go into the shop, he would. So with a huge breath intake he walked toward the small store. He didn't think about what he was about to do. So he walked in. He hadn't really been paying attention to where he was walking thought he had bumped right into someone.
It caught the blonde off guard to say the least. But he reacted almost instantly. To make sure whoever it was didn't fall he moved his hand to try to catch their wrist but his hand went further most likely catching their back. Naruto let out a sigh hoping whoever it was wouldn't fall. The blonde opened his eyes, they had been closed since the incident had transpired.

~~~Hinata Hyuuga~~~ ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- So far today had gone rather well. After a morning training session, Hinata had decided to work on some shopping for the day. As the food at home was well taken care of, she had decided upon working on getting some flowers. Her room had gotten kind of dull lately, and the gardens inside the Hyuuga compound had fallen into slight disrepair. Sure, they were watered and all, but no one really bothered to take any major interest in growing flowers and such. The plan was to track down some seeds and see about trying to get for the compound some color. After all, it would brighten the place up, right?
However, the Yamanaka Flower Shop, the “best in the village” so to speak, wasn’t available at the moment. Besides, it was said that Ino was in a bad mood about something lately, and even Hinata knew not to be a bother when she was like that. That, and Ino was a terrible gossip, and after meeting with Kurenai Hinata was still a little loss as to what to do about Naruto. She wanted to face Naruto down, but at the same time didn’t want the pressure that Ino’s prying eyes and ears would give her. So for the time being Hinata decided to try one of the smaller, less known flower shops. Not only would she avoid Ino, but they were also a little cheaper, meaning she could more flowers for the place. After all, Genins usually didn’t have that much of a budget, and as this was a personal project she wasn’t going to dig into the Hyuuga coffers for it.
Walking into the store wasn’t any problem, and it wasn’t long before she was lost within the confines of picking out different flower seeds she was wanting to buy. Before she knew it, however, someone had knocked right into her, sending her tumbling. Before she got anywhere, however, the person had caught her and held her up by the back. Once settled and stable, she finally got a good look at the person….
”N-Naruto?! I-I didn’t expect to see you here. N-not that I’m not glad to see you or anything like that or…..” she rambled on before stopping herself from embarrassing herself any further. Considering that Naruto was still holding onto her, and the fact he had touched her period, her face had started turning red. However, remembering her advice from Kurenai, Hinata worked to keep herself calmed down.
”Thank, thank you for catching me Naruto-kun.” she nervously said off. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- ~~~The Heiress of the Hyuuga Clan ~~~
Naruto wasn't really sure if it was a good idea to even open is eyes at all. He didn't know if the person would hate him, or perhaps if they would fall even though he had tried to stop it. Or if it was a guy, or even worse, if it was Sasuke! Naruto couldn't help but open his eyes. The thoughts had simply been to much for the blonde to bear. He looked right into the eyes of Hinata Hyugga. The girl was definitely a new one to him. He knew her, he had seen her train a couple of times. She was all in all a bit of a mystery to the boy.
When she spoke to him he listened. He couldn't help but smile kindly at her. He had talked to hinata a couple of times, but to be honest the blonde's memory wasn't great at all. He smiled and closed his eyes slightly in his trademark goofy Naruto smile only he could pull of just right. "Normally I wouldn't be in here, but I was looking for Sakura. But.. it seems I ran into you instead Hinata. Quite literally. " he said. He really didn't catch on to her rambling. He was a rambler himself and it really didn't bother him at all.
The blonde looked at her as he gently hoped to help her to her feet. He glanced down to see a few seeds that had probably dropped to the ground when he had hit her. Or rather accidental bump. He bent over and scooped it up quickly. He looked at Hinata as she seemed to thank him for catching her. He smiled again as he looked at her holding out the seed packet that had been on the ground. "It was no big deal Hinata, after all it was me who bumped you. It has been a while since we have talked or been together huh?" he said kindly.
It really was his fault for bumping into the girl and he sort of felt bad about it. So.. he thought of something. He smiled kindly at her. "How about this Hinata? For bumping into you, how about I get the seeds for you? It's the least I can do.. and maybe.. if you aren't to busy, you could come get lunch with me? I'm completely starved~ But I understand if you can't." he said kindly.
He smiled at her again as he waited for her answer. He hoped she would be okay with what he had proposed.
~~~Hinata Hyuuga~~~ ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Hinata was glad to find that Naruto had a rather good nature about the situation at hand. Instead of getting mad or upset, he just smiled at her goofly. Well, the only thing upsetting was he had stated he had been looking for Sakura, but Hinata didn’t show herself being upset at that. After all, she was Naruto’s crush; she would appear jealous and mean if she showed disappointment. Besides, she hadn’t expected to see him at all today; she had to enjoy what she could get.
”I-It’s fine Naruto. I wasn’t paying attention to where I was going….” she responded, hoping he wasn’t taking the blame for it himself.
Helping to get her standing back up, Hinata watched as Naruto picked up some of the seeds she had bought before she got a chance to object to him doing so. She just kind of stared at him handing her the seed packet for a second as he talked before grabbing it from him. Her mind scrambled to remember what he had said; something about it being a while since they had talked.
”I-I guess it has been Naruto.” she replied, not really sure how long the break had been. She had been alone with him a few times; outside of her visit with Kurenai there really hadn’t been much happening in recent memory to serve as a guideline for time. That sounded kind of creepy; the only moments she could remember were the ones with Naruto…she was going to have to work on that.
Apparently, however, that would have to be for later as Naruto was asking her to get lunch. Hinata’s face started to flush a little with embarrassment at the offer; it wasn’t the first time he had offered something like that but it was still an offer to eat with him. Repeating in her mind it wasn’t a date, Hinata started to look away when she remembered what Kurenai had told her to do. She was going to have to face Naruto down and not look away from this. Looking him as closely to the eye as she could (still a little off, but at least not the floor), she gave the expected answer.
”I would be glad to Naruto-kun.” she responded, muscles tensing as she worked to keep herself steady and from falling right there…. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- ~~~The Heiress of the Hyuuga Clan ~~~

Naruto continued to grin goofy at the Violette. He didn't know why, but Hinata, was just easy to smile at. She was someone that he felt normal around. A rather interesting feeling indeed. He glanced at her when she said she hadn't been paying attention where she was going. He smiled kindly. He couldn't help but let a hand trail behind his head like he normally did. His hand rubbed the back of his head as his eyes closed melting into his smile. "I guess we both weren't paying attention then. " he said.
Naruto held out the seeds kindly to the hyuuga girl and watched as she took them from him. There was a slight pause in talking between the two. Naruto, used the time to just look at his hands. He didn't really know what to say next. Then, thankfully, Hinata responded first. He smiled and looked back up at her. She said that she too thought it had been a long while sense they had talked. He would definitely have to fix that. Hinata was a good person to talk too. She was easy to talk to and he liked that about her. He smiled kindly. It seemed the smiles were overflowing from the blonde now.
Perhaps, not finding Sakura had been a good thing after all. He could find her anytime he really wanted. She was on his team. Hinata, she was different, he didn't get to see her all the time. So it seemed like it was more important to spend some time with her than the pink girl that he had a minor crush on. He looked back at Hinata after he had asked her about lunch. It would be the perfect time to catch up with the girl. He wondered what she had been up to lately. He watched as her face seemed to turn red.
He couldn't help but think the girl was hot. He moved closer to her trying to figure out if that was the case. She did, after all, always wear that really heavy coat. Didn't it get hot in that every once in a while? He couldn't really say anything since he wore his heavy jumpsuit. But she probably had something underneath her coat didn't she? He didn't realize that she had been trying to keep eye contact with him. He couldn't take it anymore.
"Hey hinata, are you feeling ok? You look a little red, like you have a fever or something." he said. Without thinking he moved his hand forward. He was trying to touch the girls forehead to see if she was really ok when she spoke to him. It sort of caught him off guard and he stumbled a bit. His hand moved as well going a little......lower. At the sight Naruto instantly freaked.
He pulled his hand back quickly. He thought he had touched Hinata in the well....breast. He wasn't all that sure. He knew lunch was soooo off now. Man, in just a few seconds the blonde had messed up yet again. "Hinata! I'm sooo soooo SORRY!" he shouted. He didn't dare even stay in the same area. Before he heard anything from the hyugga he spun on his heel and exited the shop running. Naruto was so mad at himself. He couldn't do anything right.
Nothing at all.

~~~Hinata Hyuuga~~~ ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Hinata was glad to see that Naruto was just as embarrassed as her when it came to this situation. He looked like he was rather awkward as well, rubbing the back of his face. Thinking back to her talk with Kurenai, Hinata tried to establish the fact in her mind that Naruto wasn’t perfect. After all, he was acting awkward right now. Not as bad as she normally was, but still awkward. And he was acknowledging what she said as well as being polite and apologizing. Nothing to fear or get scared about; just a friendly accident.
”Please, don’t worry about it Naruto-kun….” she responded, trying to get them of this awkward situation and to just move on from it.
Still, she couldn’t help but be blushing when she reached out to grab the seeds from his hand, and with all the smiling he was doing just kept the situation up for her as well. Still, she tried her best to keep up a straight face and look him in the eye; this was the day she was going to be confidant in front of Naruto. No running, no fainting, no anything like that. Already she had accepted his offer to lunch; if she could do that she would be fine. She was going to stand up to him and….
He apparently thought her sick again as he asked her if she had a fever again. She was tempted to say that she did, but remembering her promise to herself and Kurenai she refused. No, she was going to be honest about why she was blushing. Maybe not a full confession of love or anything, but still…..
”I-I don’t have a fever Naruto. I’m….”
Apparently her speaking distracted him from trying to take her temperature with his hand as the next thing she knew it was on her, uhm, chest. Hinata was quick to jump back from it, definitely red now (at least she would have a good reason to be embarrassed now…). She knew it was an accident; Naruto wasn’t perverted enough to try and, what was the phrase, cop a feel? Still, she instinctly pulled her jacket in a little tighter, eyes darting off to the side as she tried to hide her embarrassment again. Naruto, of course, was quick to apologize and….and he ran off?
It was odd to have HIM be the one to run off instead of her. It was startling enough Hinata just stood there without doing anything, not really sure what to do. After thinking about it though, she loosened her grip on her jacket and headed out of the shop after Naruto. There was no way she was going to let him go running off thinking he had screwed up; after all, he had yet to do the same to her. The rest of the village might, but she wasn’t. After all, she knew the feeling.
”N-Naruto, wait! You don’t need to run off like that!” ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- ~~~The Heiress of the Hyuuga Clan ~~~
Naruto was glad when Hinata told him that everything was basically fine between them. Things had indeed gotten awkward. He wasn't sure he could of taken much more of the awkwardness that had transpired for the few moments as they talked about bumping one another. But then again, Naruto let things slid off his back easily. He was easy to make friends with that way. He was just that kind of person he assumed. Someone who was easily befriended and helped others find their way in the long run as well.
He looked back up as Hinata only seemed to get redder. He could just barely make out another response from the girl about her not having a fever, before everything literally went down the drain. He had literally groped Hinata! Why had he been startled?! He could of done anything, ANYTHING to make himself look stupid, but no.. it had to be that. The girl would probably think of him as a pervert now. So much for talking to Hinata more often. He would be lucky if she didn't send Kiba and his annoying mutt after him. And that Shino dude. He was seriously creepy for naruto's own tastes in people.
The dude hardly ever talked and never showed his face. And not to mention all those creepy crawly bugs. The thought made Naruto shiver. He really, REALLY didn't want that. So what was his first thought? Run. He apologized with everything he had as he made his way out of the store. He could barely see the girl jump back away from him. He didn't like the sight of that. She must really hate him now. And he honestly didn't think Hinata liked him to begin with. She had after all always seemed to clam up around him. He wondered if it was because he had done or said something to make her upset with him.
He hoped not, but now.. that really didn't matter. The girl was never going to talk to him again. Naruto ran blindly. He could almost feel the sting in the corner of his eyes as tears started to form there. He had done something really, REALLY bad. He looked up just in time to run head first into one of the wooden poles of the village. Naruto, not paying attention had ran into it rather hard. Now the tears really fell. Naruto made a cross between a moan and a yelp cry. He slid to the ground a huge red mark on his face.
Then he fell back. His arms where above his head on the ground and his legs had just dropped to the ground. The red mark was still visible on his face as Naruto seemed to pass out from the rather crazy and idiotic cross with the pole. In the game of war, Naruto had definitely lost this round.. sadly. And it was to a non moving object.
~~~Hinata Hyuuga~~~ ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Chasing after Naruto, Hinata tried to think of what exactly to say to the boy. Obviously she was embarrassed by the situation, but she was sure it was an accident. She just didn’t think Naruto would be so purposefully perverted like that. So telling him that would probably help. Next, she’d have to make sure that she let Naruto know that she didn’t hate him or anything like that for it. Some of the other girls would react rather negatively, and Hinata did feel a bit uncomfortable about it, but she didn’t hate him for it; there wasn’t really anything she could think of right now that would make her hate Naruto. Whether to tell him that much was a different issue, but there was something clear here; she needed to let know Naruto know she wasn’t mad or angry at him. After all, she….well she knew what she felt about him.
Continuing the chase, Hinata yelled out after him…just in time to see him smack into a pole. In such a serious moment as this, Hinata had a mixed reaction. Obviously there was concern, and that was the main thing she showed. However, it was a little funny, and there was some restraint in her voice as she worked to keep back a slight giggle. The main concern, however, was Naruto’s condition. Now that he wasn’t going anywhere, Hinata was finally able to catch up with him fully.
”Naruto-kun, are you okay?” she asked, obviously concerned as she worked to try and lift him up. He seemed knocked out, but he would probably be up soon. Lifting him up gently, she tried to get him to sit up straight as best as she could as she tried to start working through what she wanted to say.
”N-Naruto, you didn’t need to run out like that. I-it was an accident right? I’m not going to get angry with you over an accident.” she responded, trying to sound reassuring and confident, not confused and embarrassed.
In her mind, what she really wanted to add to that statement was something probably to the effect of “because it was you” or something really cheesy like that. Well, not that she really had wanted to get groped, but that wasn’t the point. The point was she couldn’t really get mad at Naruto. Maybe frustrated or confused, but never angry. Sitting there trying to get him up and about after his accident, Hinata figured there wouldn’t be a better time to at least admit something about her feelings….
”I-I know this might sound strange, but I’ve always sort of admired you for confidence. You never give up, even, even if you do make a lot of mistakes. So please, don’t run off like that again, okay?” she said, blushing again as she tried her best to keep eye contact with Naruto. Maybe it wasn’t perfect, but she had to say something, and that was the best that she could do for now. Hopefully now Naruto wouldn’t run off again about the accident at least, even if nothing else came out of this…. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- ~~~The Heiress of the Hyuuga Clan ~~~

Naruto tried to take in everything as he laid there on the ground. He wasn't completely unconscious, no a stupid pole wouldn't be able to do that to the greatest ninja of the leaf village. He was going to be Hokage after all, and he wasn't about to let a stupid chunk of wood show him who was boss. He almost forgot the very reason he had run into the pole in the first place. The only thing the blonde could really remember at the moment, was a very irritated and frustrating feeling that was overflowing out of his body and mind. He wasn't sure exactly why he felt this way.
He searched his conscious for a moment. What had he been doing just a few moments ago? The blonde opened his eyes slowly, he blinked trying to remember what it was. At the moment he heard a rather familiar voice. One that was petite and gentle. One that belonged to a certain Hyuuga heiress. Naruto caught on the Hinata's voice almost instantly. He glanced backwards over his own blonde locks from the ground to see her run to him. She was asking if he was okay. He was about to respond when the last few minutes seemed to dawn on him. He felt his face heat up almost red. He remembered what had happened now. At the thought of it a sour face crossed his features.
He couldn't believe he had done something like that. "EW...Gross.. I can't believe it.. I did something that Sasuke would probably do! THAT MAKES IT EVEN WORSE!" he shouted in his mind. He didn't have a chance to really elaborate on his own before he realized that Hinata had caught up to him. The sour look and the redness he had felt only moments before on his features faded almost instantly. It seemed the blonde was getting a little to good at that. He felt her start to lift him slightly from the ground.
The poor girl probably thought he was unconscious. He quickly decided he didn't want to worry her anymore. He helped her out and lifted the rest of his body weight on his own. He turned back to Hinata, his eyes on her. They had multiple feelings within them at that moment. Regret, remorse, apologetic, sincere, and somewhere in there.. he felt ashamed. He had done something to the poor girl that she had probably never experienced before. And that fact alone, cut at him. It cut him pretty deep. To the point that he felt like he wouldn't probably be able to face her again.
His eyes shook as he looked away from her and to the ground once again. "I'm sorry for worrying you Hinata." he said softly. A sound of almost defeat rested there. Naruto was feeling pretty crummy about himself in those moments. He didn't even really understand why Hinata was still worried about him after he had pulled such a stunt on her. He didn't know why she hadn't just hit him and beat him like a pulp like Sakura probably would of done. And yet, Naruto knew Hinata would of never done that. She was different than Sakura when it came to that aspect.
She was kind, and she was caring. She wanted to know how others felt, and wanted to understand people in a way Sakura did not. Naruto felt just the smallest blush come to his face as he thought of such things. "Why is it... that I am thinking these things about Hinata? Its.. Sakura, that I like... isn't it?" he thought to himself. And yet, as he asked himself that question something else seemed to move within the blonde. Something he had never once considered before. Perhaps, Hinata was a lot more like him than he had ever realized before, in a way.. she knew the same pain as him.
No, she didn't hold a beast inside her. She hadn't been scorned just because of what was inside her. But she knew hurt, and still she kept going, like he had. The thought made Naruto take in the hyuuga princess as something he had never seen her as before. As she spoke to him, the sound of her voice and the words that she spoke to him, only reassured the thoughts he had been thinking only moments before. He smiled kindly. He didn't know what to say to her at that very moment, but he was very grateful to her. She had helped him in many ways than she probably knew now.
He didn't know why he couldn't say anything to her at that moment, but he knew that he had something to say. Something very important. The words, just didn't come to him. He didn't understand why either. He just knew that something had changed within him. Something really, really important. He looked up and into Hinata's eyes when she started once again. He didn't know why, but her words struck at him. He watched her with shaking eyes. He could see the slight blush that seemed to grace her delicate features. He almost felt something like tears come to his face.
He put his hands on her shoulder's before pulling her into him. He didn't know if she would pull away or let him pull her. He wasn't doing such things forcefully. If she wanted to, she could pull away from him. He wanted to be close to her in that moment. "Its hard being confident isn't it Hinata? I bet you know that just as much as I do." he whispered softly to her. He didn't know where any of the words he spoke came from but he knew it came from within his own heart somewhere.
"I can see it Hinata, I can see you glow, I can see you shine when you defend the things you care about. You ....have probably been through things, hardships, things that have hurt you and tried to consume you. I think you know the pain that I have felt before. I don't think you really realize it Hinata, but.. you don't run away as much as you think you do. To be honest with you... I think you have even made me change a bit.." he said. He tightened his grip on her only a tiny bit. Naruto was hugging her tight.
For some reason, whether he knew it or not, Naruto was content. He was happy in this moment with her. He couldn't find anything like the moment he felt with her now. Naruto wanted to stay like this forever, but even the blonde knew, that even the best of dreams.. eventually had to come to a close. You just had to wake up.

~~~Hinata Hyuuga~~~ ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- As she went to grab ahold of him, Hinata noticed there was a sour look on his face, and he was starting to heat up red. This was definitely a feeling she was used to; embarrassment, worry, concern. He was probably still embarrassed about what had happened earlier, and running face first into a pole probably didn’t help his pride much either. It went away pretty quickly, but it was at least a good sign that Naruto was starting to regain consciousness, unless he was just doing all that unconsciously. She knew from experience your body just reacted in ways you wished it wouldn’t, especially when you were unconscious.
This really helped to get her to start calming down, and she was very relieved to find him opening his eyes, and the level of emotion within them was rather mixed and varied. The feelings of remorse and apology, mixed with shame, were something she was used to. Admittedly, it was more of when she dealt with her father’s comments and looking down on her than the reason Naruto was. As for her own eyes, it was mostly a mix of worry but more importantly relief to see that he was fine. He’d probably have a sore head for a few hours after that, but the way he talked showed the psychological results of it all would probably last longer. He sounded like he was defeated….just like she probably sounded like when she talked about her father with Kurenai. It was odd to be the one in the position of confidence, with Naruto acting more like she normally felt and behaved.
”Really, Naruto, it’s not a big deal. Really, it isn’t. Don’t beat yourself up over it…..” she responded, noting the irony of her acting like this towards others but then doing so when it came to herself.
After giving out her own speech about her ‘feelings’ towards Naruto, Hinata noticed that Naruto was rather quiet. Since after she finished it she kind of looked away, she didn’t noticed his facial reactions or anything like that. Instead, she was afraid she had said something wrong, that maybe she had gone too far with it and creeped him out with. She was starting to regret her actions, fearing that now Naruto was going to run off. Sure, he wouldn’t say anything mean on purpose, but still, having him run off would probably hurt worse than having him say something.
The next thing she knew, however, she was being pulled towards him, and she didn’t resist. Mostly cause she was surprised by the reaction, and the slight wetness to his face. Had he been crying, or at least tearing up? Did what she say really affect him that much? Of course, being herself, she just kind of stayed there rather still, not really sure how to react outside of her face blushing rather strongly by now. Of course, she was also paying attention to what Naruto was saying rather closely. It, it really didn’t sound like the Naruto that she knew of; it was a lot more emotional, coming from the heart. Was this the sort of thing that he was feeling when he sat there on the swing alone?
Of course, this was not how she expected her day to go at all. She had simply wanted to come and purchase some flowers for a garden. And now here she was, in Naruto’s arms, with him….well she wasn’t exactly sure what it was. It was a mix of a speech on her own confidence, about her caring for others, hardships they both shared, and, well, whatever it was to be she found herself tearing up by the end as well. Never did she think that Naruto would be saying such things to her, or hugging her this tightly. It, well, she really wasn’t sure how to react to it or what exactly what to say. She knew she was going to have to say something though….
”Naruto, I-I….thank you. I never expected this to happen, to have this effect on you, or that you would say anything like this. I don’t know why you’ve had to suffer the pain you’ve had, and I guess I wouldn’t know either. And I’m kind of babbling at this point cause I just really don’t what to say…..”
At this point Hinata realized she could probably return the hug, since up to this point her arms had just been kind of hanging there. Raising her arms up, she returned the hug Naruto had given her, face blushing the entire time as she started to cry a little at it all. For a Hyuuga, such a public expression of emotion would be highly looked down on, but she really didn’t care anymore. This was something she had needed to do for a long time, though right now it was mixed in with a feeling of joy at this moment.
”N-Naruto, I’m sorry for crying like this, but…but…I got nothing else to say really….”
Naruto didn't really care if his head stung pretty bad because of the pole that he had just ran into. He didn't care that the two of them were pretty much on their hands and knees in front of almost all of the market district. The thought of it didn't bother him. The blonde didn't think that anything could bother him at the moment. Nothing could really do anything to ruin the moment between him and the Violette that was Hinata.
He didn't know what feelings were moving within him. He didn't know what it was. He knew what he had over sakura but this seemed so different. So better and happy at the same time. He couldn't possibly.. why.. was it only now that he felt like this. At the thought Naruto knew that it was partly his fault because he had thought Hinata was wierd at times and perhaps that was what had kept her from him. He didn't know what to say and his body just felt on fire.
His grip on her tightened slightly not enough to hurt her but enough for her to feel him gripping her a bit more. He didn't know what to expect from Hinata. Not at all to be honest with himself. He could almost feel his heart drop a bit when he felt her arms continue to stay at their sides and fell her tense just the slightest bit. Perhaps this was a bad idea. He didn't know she was crying by the end of his words to her. He only knew the tears that had stung before had now become bigger and were moving down his cheeks.
He didn't fear crying. Not this kind. For the first time, he wasn't crying because he was sad. He was crying for something else, maybe this was how it felt to cry for something more powerful. He was about to let the girl go when her own words seemed to reach his ears. At her words his eyes opened from their closed state. Her words comforted him. He knew that she didn't know. And, he didn't want to worry her aobut such things. He wouldn't want to worry anyone about what was inside him. Least of all Hinata.
At her talk of babbling Naruto let a soft chuckle come from his mouth as he hugged her. "You know.. I never really minded babbling all that much. Babbling is nothing to be ashamed of. You are at least talking to me right Hinata? And that is better than saying nothing at all. I'm so happy you aren't mad at me. If I could I would probably punch myself in the face for what I did.. but it seemed like that pole did it for me." he said through slight tears, but a smile was plastered on his face.
At that point he felt Hinata touch him. It wasn't just him embrassing her anymore. She had returned it. Even after everything that they had said and done, he didn't expect it. He didn't expect her to actually return it. He was shocked but the moment she did his hands seemed to grip her jacket a little more and move himself that much closer against her in a full hug with little distance between them. At her words Naruto didn't move, he didn't want to brake the hug before she did.
He didn't know if she really needed this hug or not, so he wasn't about to take it from her. With a soft hand he rubbed her back gently as if to soothe her the other hand still embrassing her with his hug. His words became gentle as he spoke back to her words. "You know Hinata, people say that crying makes you weak. So for the longest time I simply refused to let myself cry anymore. But.. I guess I just realized that.. crying isn't wrong.. especially when you do it, not because you are sad.. but more because you are happy."
He smiled to himself. His words didn't sound normal to him. Normally they were filled with energy brimming over the edge. This was different. His words had some meaning to them, though it wasn't the same way he normally spoke there was no doubt that the energy was still there, just in a different form, only for Hinata.
~~~Hinata Hyuuga~~~ ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- By this point, Hinata was starting to remember that they were currently sitting in the market district with all of this. Admittedly, it was an embarrassing situation for the successor of the Hyuuga clan to be in this position. But at the moment, she truly didn’t care at all. This was Naruto she was dealing with, in what had to probably be the most vulnerable position he had ever been. Even brushing off her feelings for him, this was a rare moment to be in. He was always so happy, so carefree, so determined that she couldn’t think of any time seeing him in a position like this; vulnerable, open, crying. If she was going to get in trouble with her father over this, then so be it; she was going to try her best to help Naruto as she could.
As the scene got a bit more emotional, Hinata’s words started to babble a lot more, eventually having to apologize with more babbling. Naruto laughed a little at it, saying that she had nothing to be ashamed of, and pointing out that she was talking to him. Admittedly, he was right on that; this was a lot better than simply standing behind a post looking at him and ‘stalking’ him. Even with all the emotion though, Naruto was able to pull out a joke about the pole hitting him in the head for him. Hinata had to let out a small smile; she didn’t chuckle that much, and was a little too worked up right now to do so.
”I-I guess it’s better than just watching you from a distance. And I don’t think the pole really had to do that to you.” she responded; even if the pole thing was a joke, she didn’t want Naruto to think he had to get knocked in the head every time he did something stupid.
Eventually Naruto’s hug was returned by Hinata, with Naruto responding by hugging her a little bit tighter…and rubbing her back. Admittedly that was a little much, causing her to turn rather red and distance herself a little bit. While she could survive the hug, that just seemed a bit more than she could handle right now. Actually, if anything, she was starting to hope that maybe they could start working on getting up, maybe moving somewhere else. As much as she loved this moment, it was starting to get rather intimate, enough to get over any restraints she had on her embarrassment.
Still, she waited for Naruto to finish his words first. After all, what was she supposed to say to him right now? He was admitting that there was nothing wrong with crying, especially when one was happy. This entire situation was a good example of that, especially since by this point they had both been crying pretty steadily. By this point she had stopped, though more due to just not really having any tears left to do so.
”N-Naruto, I-I….I think we can probably get up now.”
She couldn’t think of anything to say. No matter how much she wanted to say something, she drew a blank and went for that first emotion of wanting to pull back a little. All this emotion at once wasn’t something she was used to. She loved that she was getting so much closer to Naruto, but right now her father was in the back of the head; someone seeing her like this and telling him would be a disaster. Her natural tendency to avoid moments like this was rearing its ugly head.
”But maybe we can get something at Ichiraku Ramen?”
Hinata hoped that at least offering that would make up for breaking the moment off. Of course, she did so standing up as she freed herself from Naruto’s hug. In the course of it, she looked kind of downtrodden; not that she was upset at Naruto, but more at herself. At least the full-red face she had right now would probably let him know she was just embarrassed more than mad at him….
