^^^Rock Lee^^^ ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Training was his passion, a passion that burned brightly in his youthful heart. As always, Lee was starting his day off with a jog around the village before he started off his real training for the day. Right now he was just running on the outside of the village wall in the woods. Much more challenging than the safe, flat streets of the village. Here there were roots and branches and various other things that could trip him up. Furthermore, and this was a possibility only sadly, he could be attacked by a wild animal or even enemy ninja! No one inside the village would dare someone; but out here things were free and wild. So much potential danger; it was thrilling!
Of course there was some reasons behind this mission, and not just because of his goal to become the best ninja he could be without ninjutsu or genjutsu. No, he was planning on challenging Neji to another battle, to test his skills as always. So far Neji had always won, but Lee managed to make each fight harder and harder each time. He was confident that soon he would win a fight with Neji; that was a day he was hoping for. Then he could prove that hard work could beat genius! And then he would gain Neji’s approval and he would stop looking so down all the time. While he wasn’t really sure what his problem was, Lee knew that Neji seriously was lacking youthful passion. Proving himself to be a worthy rival would ignite that passion in Neji, would it not?
So with his plan in motion, Lee focused harder than ever on his training. He wasn’t going to jog around the wall; he was going to run it! Slowly he picked up speed, and soon he was going at full speed! Wooshing through trees, jumping from tree to tree! It was a real thrill, and awesome training as well! Nothing could beat this at all. Nothing…..
Boom
Without looking, Lee had smacked right into a root on the ground, catching his foot in the process. Going at full speed and physics kicking in, Lee was sent flying to the ground, tumbling through roots, dirt, and leaves until he eventually found himself smacking into a tree right outside the gates of the village. Face first even; at least none of his perfectly shiny teeth were broken. Still, it kind of hurt, but Lee was manly enough to not start crying in pain….probably cause he was in enough pain to not be able to really move from that position. Instead, he fell backwards onto the ground.

Neji had awoken that morning to a dim light showing out through his window. The orange and pink had mixed with the dark blue and purple of the night sky, painting a line of red, almost, between the night and day, separating them like a curtain. Amazingly, there was no sort of general plan for this day. It was highly unusual, like a blip in the schedule that had been set previously. It was strange...not "normal". Neji greatly prefered things to be planned out. Sure, he could plan out a day in a rather impromptu manner, but he found it annoying. Sometimes he'd run out of things to do. He didnt have a problem with meditating, but even after a while, he could loose his focus and let his mind wander to various other topics.
Neji shook his head and focused more on what he was doing....walking. He had been thinking about the day so far for some time now, and was simply wandering just outside of the main village on a path in the woods. He was admittedly sort of bored. He could be doing any number of things...studying, meditating, training, sharpening his kunai and shuriken, etcetera. But, of all things, he was walking. He shook his head and didnt let it get to him. Looking around, he didnt see much. However, he tilted his chin upwards towards the light blue sky, which was clear and cloudless, letting the sun lighten his face a bit. Neji put his hands in his pockets and closed his eyes, feeling the sunlight on his face, warming his skin. Everything was peaceful until...
Boom.
Neji blinked and looked down, his gaze flickering towards the point of the disruptive sound. A small cloud of dust was rising from the ground, and grass, leaves, dirt, and some weeds were strewn aside from a path in the ground that looked as though something had skidded right through it. Neji stepped forward so he could see around the tree the path led to and he was met with a strange...or not so strange...sight. It was Lee. His overactive, youth-obsessed teammate that had taken up the uncanny appearence of their over-energetic sensei. Sighing loudly, he rolled his eyes as the green-clad boy fell backwards and spoke aloud to himself.
Lee was always training more than what could possibly be considered a "normal" amount. Night or day, rain or shine. He was always doing something. If that wasnt bad enough, he was constantly challenging Neji to a training fight of Taijutsu. To humor his teammate, Neji had always accepted, but always proceeded to win. He planned to keep that record, and based on the looks of his teammate sitting back on his rear in the dirt, that wasnt about to change anytime soon. "Lee...what are you doing...?" Neji asked in a bored voice. Not that he couldnt already guess. He couldnt just stand by and act like it hadnt even happened, though.

^^^Rock Lee^^^ ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- In the middle of recovery, Lee soon found himself being presented with the face of his archrival and teammate….Neji. Admittedly this was not the position that he wished to find himself in, laying on his back after hitting a tree. Chances were his fellow shinobi had seen it, and his bored voice asking what happened told Lee that he probably knew the situation very well. Still, Lee was not the kind to be easily embarrassed, even when he completely and utterly messed up like that. So with all the youthful energy he could muster, Lee pushed himself back up and was standing on his two feet like the accident had never even happened.
”Good morning Neji! I was simply in the middle of a training exercise when I injured myself. Do not worry for I am perfectly all right.”
With that he gave his teammate a thumbs up and smile, trying to provoke some kind of emotion out of the normally stoic Neji. He still was unsure of why Neji had turned out the way he was, but Lee was not going to give up on him. No, he would one day find the reason for Neji’s anger, and he was going to give Neji the biggest, most youth-filled pep talk of his life. Not right now though; Neji was probably in a bad mood about something or was wanting him to calm down. In the middle of his thoughts, Lee was still smiling and thumb-upping Neji, but being brought to reality he put it down. That now left them in an awkward silence….so what to do now.
”So then Neji, what brings you out here to the forest? Are you planning on training for the day? If so I will be glad to join you, and even possibly have another match against you!” ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- ^^^Konoha’s Handsome Green Devil^^

Neji stared at his over-energetic teammate levely. Despite being on the ground, belly-up, he somehow seemed to come off cheerful. Is he really so carefree...? Neji wondered, almost incredulously. His brief thoughts were cut short as he took a step back when Lee leapt to his feet. His energy seemed to practically multiply when he stood, jarring dust off himself with the swift action, as though he hadnt had such a clumsy blunder.
"Good morning Neji! I was simply in the middle of a training exercise when I injured myself. Do not worry for I am perfectly all right!"
With a thumbs up and a broad grin, his words fell into the air. Neji supressed a sigh and managed to stop himself from rolling his eyes. Their near madman (to him, anyway) of a sensei was bad enough, and since they were assigned to Gai as his students, Lee had practically become a clone of their teacher. They had the same attitude, hair, clothes, and absolute obsession with youth. they also seemed to have am utal want to convert him to their over-the-top tendencies.
He could have shuddered at the though, pushing it away as though it were simply a nightmare as Lee spoke again.
"So then, Neji, what brings you out here to the forest? Are you planning on training? If so, I will be glad to join you, and even possibly have another match against you!"
Neji raised his eyebrows slightly at the offer. it caught him a bit off guard, though he figured he shouldve expected as much. At that moment he decided to go ahead and tell Lee the truth. Blinking once and nodding, Neji opened his mouth to respond.
"Yes. I came out here to train. And..."
Neji moved his arms, crossing them. "Was that a challenge?" Neji would never back down from an offer to train or a challenge to a fight when he knew he would win. And this was one of those times. Without giving Lee a chance to respond, he continued smoothly, his voice cool and calm as a contrast to Lee's.
"I accept. Are you sure, though?" Neji asked, letting a bit of a harder note slip into his voice. "You're destined to always loose..." he prevented himself from adding "dropout" to the end, leaving his words hanging in the air for an answer.

Where was Naruto that morning persay? Exactly where he shouldn't of been. In bed. The blonde had slept in once again. Something that was a bad habit already. Naruto was curled up in a small ball his arms clutched around a pillow his drool on it as well. He was dressed in his normal pajaama's that really didn't seem to suit that of a ninja. On his dresser was his normal scrools and a few books scattered here and there on the ground. IT seemed like he had stayed up all night again.
All at once the alarm clock that seemed covered with all types of clothes and other things, seemed to go off. The ringing was reduced to buzzing because of everything on it. It had been going off for hours now. Good thing that Naruto didn't have anywhere in particular to be today. No missions, but he had wanted to train after all. He hadn't known that he would end up sleeping the day away.
Finally the clock seemed to get out from under the clothes enough for its loud peircing ring to be heard. It was loud and clear. RIIIINNNGGG! RIIIINNNGGG! RIIIINNNGGG! The clock's noise probably could of awoke a creature in hibernation. Naruto cringed slightly at the sound before he opened his eyes slowly. He moaned before stretching and finally moving out from under the covers. He sat on the edge of the bed for a moment yawning. He looked around remembering that his clock wasn't on the dresser where it normally was.
He finally seemed to locate it. He got up and padded over to where the clock was still slightly hidden. The floor felt a little cold on his bare feet. He bent over and picked the clock up seeming to ignore the filth that his place had become as of last night. He had tried to learn another jutsu and that hadn't paid off so well. It seemed it wasn't as easy as the Kage Bushin and that was pretty hard to begin with. That had been a real pain in its own way.
Naruto finally seemed to zone back in and look at the clock once more. This time he felt like he almost jumped out of his skin. It was WHAT TIME?! Naruto's face completely dropped. He scrambled around his room digging around looking for his normal outfit. It was rather hard finding it in the bedroom. He pulled it on quickly after five minutes of searching. He looked over at his dresser to the only thing that wasn't a mess. His headband folded very nice. Naruto smiled softly before he picked it up and quickly tied it on.
It reminded him of his sensei Iruka. At the thought Naruto smiled. He turned to his door and started out. He sighed to himself knowing he would have to clean the place up a little bit later. He grabbed his kunai pouch and put it on before rushing out of the door. There was only one place he was heading the training grounds. He ran right on through the village hoping that no one was there. It was a lot easier to train with no distractions.
As he reached the edge of the village he saw two boys. He didn't really know them. Naruto squinted his eyes. They seemed familiar slightly. As he got closer the view of them became better and he instantly registered who they were. They were one year ahead of them. Not from the academy. Or at least from his graduating year. He remembered them from the academy but that had been a while ago.
If his memory served him correctly. The one in the green was Rock Lee and the other one was... Oh why did his memory always act up all the time. As the other boy seemed to talk to Rock Lee Naruto got a glimps of his eyes and it instantly hit him. Neji Hyuuga. Everyone called him the genius. That already set Naruto off, mostly because that was how Sasuke was. He hadn't expected this but these things did happen every so often.
Naruto walked up to them calmly. He wondered what they were talking about. He barely heard the ending of their conversation. Training. As he got closer Rock Lee's appearence got to the kid. It almost made Naruto backpeddle from the site. Now he understood why Neji was probably treating him wierd. But even Rock Lee, with his Huge Eyebrows, was better than that snob. And a snob he was just from hearing the little bit of his conversation.
Naruto didn't really know what to say to them. He felt kind of wierd, he had never felt embarrased like this before. Naruto laughed to himself. "Your Neji Hyuuga and Rock Lee right? My name is Naruto Uzumaki. I know you have probably heard my name before. I heard you talking about training. Mind if I join?" he asked. He was at least trying to be nice.

^^^Rock Lee^^^ ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- As he stood there, thumbs up and grinning, Lee waited for Neji to make some kind of response to it all. He was disappointed to find, however, that he did not do anything, instead acting like it was never said. It didn’t bring sadness to Lee however. Returning to a normal state, Lee found a new determination to supplement his old. Neji was in an obvious need to have his inner youth lit; even if he wasn’t like him and Gai-sensei, Lee knew that Neji had some issues. Still, till he could find out what those are, he could only hope to get through to Neji through training and proving his own worth as a ninja. This was why he was quick to offer up a round of training with Neji and hopefully a match.
As expected, Neji simply raised an eyebrow at the offer. Lee knew Neji didn’t take the offers that seriously, but for Lee it was his goal to win a fight against Neji. Still, he had hoped his rival could take it all a little more serious and care, but it didn’t phase him that much. Besides, he even agreed to take up the challenge! Even if he was a bit rude about it, and obviously showed displeasure, Lee knew he could always get a match from Neji if requested.
Before he could say anything, however, Neji accepted and asked for Lee to reconsider since he was “destined to loose”. Lee just smiled at Neji, shifting into his combat stance to get ready for the fight. No matter what Neji said his destiny was, Lee was going to fight. If destiny said he was going to lose, well, then he was going to work so hard as to break destiny!
”Of course I accept the challenge Neji. I am confident that this time victory will…”
Lee stopped mid-sentence as he noticed someone else had approached the field. It was some blonde-haired, orange wearing ninja from the Leaf, as told by the headband. He was rather calm, so he had probably come to the field to expect training of some sorts. Lee did not recall him from the Academy they graduated, so he had to have been of a younger year than theirs. He soon began to speak, apparently being kind of embarrassed about doing so. What an odd kid…
”Naruto Uzumaki….” Lee said, getting out of stance and rubbing his chin as he tried to think of where he had heard the name from before. Looking over the kid, he looked at the major features; orange clothing, blonde hair and blue eyes, some whiskers on his face. Hmmm, Naruto, Naruto….
”I am sorry, but I do not recall who you are. However…”
The other part of the statement was the boy wanting to join in on their training. Lee did not know who this boy was or what his skills were. He was a complete wild-card of skills and ability. For all Lee knew, the kid was terrible….or he was an absolute genius! Yes, this kid could prove to be a worthwhile challenge for him. Fighting Neji he knew what to expect and plan. But this…Naruto, he could be up against anything he could dream of! Of course he would let this complete stranger join up into their training!
Giving Naruto the thumbs up and a gleaming smile, Lee was ready to go!
”You are free to join in the training if you want! The more people who I can train against the better ninja I will become!” ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- ^^^Konoha’s Handsome Green Devil^^
