::Haruno Sakura::
::CHARACTER OVERVIEW::
AGE: 12
GENDER: Female
DATE OF BIRTH: March 28
RANK: Genin
VILLAGE: Konohagakure
::CHARACTER APPEAREANCE::
PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION:
Sakura is a small and petite twelve-year-old girl. She just barely reaches the height of 5 feet tall (150.1 cm) and weighing in at a total of about 79 pounds (35.9). This makes her a lightweight and therefore not physically strong, though in return she is much more agile and flexible compared to some of the other Genin. Her general build is slightly feminine, but is not very developed compared to other females such as Ino. While her body has some slight curves, overall she has a slightly straight figure, and leans more towards being flat chested than overly curvy. Her arms and legs follow the same patter in being rather thin, giving Sakura an overall impression of being a small, thin, and agile girl.
The one thing that she does have more than the other girls, however, is something she’d rather not have; her forehead. Sakura’s forehead is considered abnormally large, and was in fact a target for teasing when she was younger. She wear’s the headband on her head in order to draw attention away from it, a suggestion made by her former friend Ino. The rest of her face is rather soft with a bit of a point at the bottom. The main features (other than her forehead) are her large, green-colored eyes and rather expressive smile. Sakura has been shown to have a wide range of emotions that are expertly displayed by her face (and fist when necessary).
Sakura’s hair is a bright, cherry blossom pink. She has grown it long, all the way down to her mid-back. The reason is because there was a rumor that her crush Sasuke preferred longhaired girls. She has the bangs separated so they frame her face. For the cute factor, though it also shows off her forehead some. However, she has gotten over that issue for the most part, and so doesn't mind it as long as it isn't completely focused on or Ino points it out.
CLOTHING DESCRIPTION:
Sakura wears what is known as a qipao dress, which is a body-hugging one piece dress. Sakura’s dress has short sleeves that go up to her elbows and opens up at the sides of the legs. There is also a zipper that goes from the middle of the chest downwards toward the stomach and then goes off to the side. The coloring of the dress is a dark red, with a white trimming on the edges. On the sleeves, back, and bottom-front of the dress, however, are circular patterns that serve as sort of Sakura’s personal symbol. Underneath the dress she wears a pair of body-tight dark green shorts that go down to her calves. A kunai pouch is bandaged to her right leg for easy access. Her headband is worn on the top of her head to attract attention away from her large forehead. Finally, Sakura prefers to wear open-toed blue shinobi shoes.
Sakura also has a sleeveless version of the dress that is for all intents and purposes the same as the normal dress, just without sleeves.

PERSONALITY:
Sakura has what many people would call a ‘split personality.’ Normally she presents herself as being rather well mannered and polite. While she might get an angry tone of voice at times, she usually doesn’t yell (the exceptions being Ino and Naruto, who she would gladly yell at). Overall Sakura presents her emotions as being rather gentle most of the time. Inside her own head, however, lies “Inner Sakura.” Inner Sakura is a representation of what Sakura is truly feeling. This lets her release all her own emotions without destroying the appearance of being well mannered and ‘cute’. For example, when upset she may pout or just stand there with a small sign of anger on her face, but Inner Sakura will be ranting and raving. This Inner Sakura has developed enough to the point that it serves almost like a second will within Sakura.
As mentioned, however, there are two situations where this may break down. The first situation is just about anything to do with Ino. As the two of them have a bitter rivalry, Sakura is quick to break out in yelling, name-calling, and overall being spiteful towards the girl. This competition, however, also spurs Sakura on as she wishes to become Ino’s equal, and even maybe surpass her. The other situation is when Naruto is acting like an idiot. Sakura considers him a prankster, annoying, and overall a failure, claiming his lack of parents has lead him to become undisciplined. Whenever Naruto is acting overly stupid, she may even physically express her anger, such as hitting up upside the head.
There is only one person that Sakura has fallen for; Sasuke Uchiha. The other motivation she has (other than beating Ino) is to try and impress Sasuke. Sakura has fallen completely in love with the guy, and has been constantly trying to win his affections, even growing her hair out since she heard a rumor he likes longhaired girls. This also causes her to act rather fan-girlish around Sasuke and to physically and verbally berate anybody whom talks bad about him (which is mostly Naruto). This also means she gives Sasuke a lot of unneeded attention as she always tries to find him in a crowd, trying to get as close to him as possible.
HISTORY:
Born in Konoha, as a young child Sakura was always being picked on her for abnormally large forehead. Kids would tease her, calling her “Billboard Brow” and other cruel nicknames. At the time Sakura was very sensitive about it and so would end up sitting away from the others, crying. She tried to use her bangs to hide them, but that just made it worse by indicating she was sensitive about it. This continued till one day a girl named Ino decided that she was going to help Sakura. Giving Sakura a bow, she told Sakura to wear it in order to draw attention away from her forehead and towards her cuter features.
The two of them became great friends after this issue. Thanks to Ino’s gift, Sakura became more confident, and eventually overcame her insecurities related to her forehead. With Ino to defend her as well be her friend, Sakura was able to develop her own unique personality. The two of them were almost inseparable. However, there was an issue that caused some slight strain in the relationship. Sakura, while grateful for the help Ino gave her, always felt that she was in Ino’s shadow. Because of this, Sakura decided that one day she would prove herself to be Ino’s equal. At this time, however, there really was no way to do so. That is, till a Uchiha arrived on the scene.
In the Academy, Sasuke Uchiha was a prodigy. He had the highest grades, the good looks, and a cool, mysterious personality to match them. All of this combined to make him the target of affection for just about every girl in school, and Sakura and Ino were no exception. To this effect, when a rumor went around that Sasuke liked longhaired girls, the two of them grew their hair out. This mutual attraction towards Sasuke proved to be the splitting point between them as they began to argue over which of them Sasuke liked better. Eventually they decided to break apart their friendship so the two of them could compete over Sasuke more effectively. Since then the two have been bitter rivals.
In the Academy, Sakura was a natural student. She was very intelligent, loving to read and study more than just about anything else. Part of this was in natural competition with Ino, who had the best overall grades in the class (Sasuke had the highest grades in ninjutsu, taijutsu, and genjutsu, but didn’t do so well in cooperation and assertiveness). Sakura, however, was right behind this, working harder than ever to stay on top. In her spare time, however, she was always working on trying to attract the attention of Sasuke. The Uchiha, however, had absolutely no interest in her, and completely ignored her flirtations. This didn’t stop her, or any of the other girls for that matter, and she continued onward.
Other than Ino, however, there was something else that was getting in her way; Naruto. Sakura found the boy to be very irritating and annoying. He was always interrupting class with his antics, he was loud, and a complete failure at school. To make things worse, he apparently liked her. Sakura, of course, wouldn’t give him the time of day, so when she found out that she was to be on the same team as him, she was not happy. In some sort of karmic justice (actually how the teams are arranged by grade), however, Sasuke was added to her team. All that is left to do is await the beginning of their ninja training, and the perfect chance to show Sasuke exactly what she is made of.

RP SAMPLE:
As the morning sun rose, it found it’s job of waking up Sakura to have already been well taken care of. After finding out that she had been appointed on the same team as Sasuke, the cherry-headed girl had been too excited to sleep. Finally, after all these years, she was going to have a chance at something that no one else had; his heart. Ever since she had entered the Academy, Sakura had been setting her eyes on the Uchiha boy. He was handsome, intelligent, strong, and best of all, mysterious. Who knew what he was thinking behind that stoic look on his face, with only a determination and seriousness in his eyes to show true emotion. No wonder the boy was the dream of every girl in the academy, and he was going to be all hers.
As Sakura stood in front of the mirror, looking herself over while grinning triumphantly, she thought back to Ino-pig’s reaction when she found out the news. The blonde-haired Yamanaka almost keeled over from the news. Since they were in public she couldn’t release all her rage, but Sakura could tell the girl was raging. Why did she know that? Between the curled fist, the shaking body, and her biting her lip, Ino-pig showed signs of being anything but calm. And what was Sakura’s response to it all? To stand their with a smile on her face, soaking in the entire moment.
The thoughts of victory disappeared though when Sakura spotted a knot in her hair. Grumbling, she grabbed a brush and started to work it out, wincing in pain a little as her hair tugged on her scalp. Long hair was a pain to manage, but it fit her perfectly, showing off her adorable features (and distracted people from her forehead). That, and Sasuke liked long haired girls, or at least that was how the rumors went. With all this time together, Sakura was going to put that rumor to the test. Which is why she was now using all her might to get all the knots out to make sure it was long, straight, and smooth.
There was one other thing that was making Sakura wince in pain, however; Naruto was her other teammate. It was no surprise the best student of the class (Sasuke obviously) was placed with the worst (Naruto) in order to balance them, but why couldn’t they make an exception in this case? Naruto was a punk, plain and simple. He was rude, loud, obnoxious, disruptive, and apparently existed only to play jokes on people. How in the world someone like him planned on becoming Hokage was beyond any reasonable person’s logic. Naruto would be lucky to end up getting to the position of Chuunin, let alone the village leader. And to make matters worse, he had a thing for her.
Just the thought that Naruto was after her was enough to make Sakura’s mood turn sour. His attempts to win her over would give Sasuke the wrong message; he might think she was interested in him. Hmph, as if. She’d never date Naruto even if he was the only guy in Konoha. At least not till he grew up some, and that wasn’t looking like it was going to occur. So all she had to do was keep that boy away while she worked to get close to Sasuke…this might be harder than she thought it would be.
